Once upon a time...
This is how the story of «The happy end» has to begin. It all started with a gathering of locals. «We would love to do something», some said. The starting point was creating more work in Norddal, and the consensus at this gathering was that we needed to «do something» as well...
It ended in several of these gatherings with many good ideas and large thinking as well as small.
It all ended with the foundation of “The Happy End – Norddal” the 10th of Jun 2004. And since we needed a vision to work from, we came up with:
”We'll show them”
The purpose of The Happy End is to create activity and work in the village. We want this to be done through active publicity, through developing our products and cooperation with others.
We are a business organisation, but we are also a team, and a village and even a publishing unit. We wanted to benefit from the possibilities that the village already had, and the people of this area.
The board in The happy end is “Storblåsarrådet.” This organ has 4 members, and leader of the board right now is Petter Melchior. He will among other things be our face out in the world. The other members of the board have responsibility for telling our story, create craziness and do everything that will be necessary.
These are some of the things we have done since 2004:
We wanted to start by putting Norddal in a frame, and create something that pointed our way.
The major did the opening of the big arrow during the Midsummer days in 2004.
The Midsummer days are arranged every summer the weekend before Midsummer in Norddal.
We arrange a gourmet tour during the midsummer days, walking from farm to farm tasting the farmer’s products, and listening to them telling the story of the farm.
